***I know that my journey is nothing compared to many women out there. But it is still my journey through a VERY imperfect uterus and a VERY difficult loss, not to mention finding out I'm a "one tube wonder." All in all, we conceived (and so far it's sticking) a year after we began trying. I'm not one of those it-just-happened girls.***
I married my wonderful husband in June of 2007. After a few years, we were finally read to venture into "family territory," though I know I was more ready than he was! We officially started trying to conceive (TTC) in June of 2011.
The first "go-round," I got a positive test at the beginning of August, after a weekend of partying for my soon-to-be-Thai friend. I was ecstatic; my husband, petrified. A week later, my tests turned negative.
August 19--Diagnosis: chemical pregnancy. Blood work showed elevated levels, but not enough for a real pregnancy.
November 11, 2011--our second "go round." BFP, all bloodwork looked amazing. HCG had more than doubled every day; progesterone was great. My back killed me all the time, though, and the dr didn't want me doing anything.
November 29, 2011--trip to the ER. I started gushing blood and my dr told me to go the emergency room. After several hours and two ultrasounds, I was diagnosed with "threatened miscarriage." The blood was actually nothing, just a small hematoma by my uterus, but the tech couldn't find a heartbeat on our ultrasound.
November 30, 2011--first trip to our infertility doctor. Diagnosed with septate uterus. He found the baby's heartbeat, but it was only 70 bpm, not enough to give us hope of a viable pregnancy.
December 2, 2011--no heartbeat.
December 9, 2011--D&C. Our angel baby was too good for earth. Malachi Bickerstaff went home and now watches over us :)
January 23, 2012--first hysteroscopy. Septum resection seemed positive; left tube blocked. Follow up hysteroscopy ordered. Hormone therapy #1 initiated.
March 2, 2012--second hysteroscopy. Bad news. Septum was not muscular but vascular and was reattaching to my uterus. Left tube still blocked; laparoscopy as the next step.
March 9, 2012--laparoscopy. Success! Aggressive septum removal. Diagnosis of withered left tube, though tube was not removed. Apparently I've only had one tube since birth! Hormone therapy #2 initiated.
March 23, 2012--begin progesterone to start a new cycle!
April 6: Last day of all hormones
April cycle: BFN (40 day cycle...seriously, WTF)
May cyle: BFP. Cautiously expecting Feb. 2013
February 22, 2013: Welcome Daniel Jerred into our lives.
November 2013: ready to try for #2

You are much braver than I. I kept my story to myself - feeling hurt and frustrated most of the time. I hope you find joy - maybe it won't be the same way you expect, but that God brings joy even through the difficult times. Many best wishes for you...
Stopping by from ICLW. Hope this pregnancy ends with a healthy take home baby.
